Self
This project focusses on the idea of stripping someone back of their clothes, their possessions, their wealth, and everything that defines them, and taking them back to their own natural, human form, their personal beauty.
The project started with the intention of using models and showing the full body and a variety of colours and paints. However, as the project developed, so did the idea and it started to become a lot more personal than initially intended. I began to think about my own insecurities, my body conscious nature. Stripping in front of the camera is one thing, but painting my entire body to the point where I look totally alien to myself gave me a strange kind of confidence. It became more than just a project about the human form, and became about myself and appreciating my own unique natural body and my perfect insecurities.
